I could have slept in this morning but my internal clock doesn't really let me do that.
It's Friday...the day I put on my cute socks and weight in for my weight loss facebook page. I usually forget to actually write on my banded in Florida blog. It's just not as much fun when I'm not seeing big losses on the scale. I was pleased this morning to find that I'd only gained one pound over the last week. I totally junked it up over the holidays with Christmas cookies, candy, dips, and everything else that comes along with Christmas.
Vic and I went into work after a quick stop at Staples. There were some great deals but we only needed ink. I did slip a few calendars in the bag. My calendar obsession is still in full force.
Work went by quickly and I felt like I got everything done that needed to be done but I am really wanting to come up and spend a day or so organizing and getting all of the end of the year bookkeeping and filing done. Maybe tomorrow.
After work we went to the mall. Yes the mall the day after Christmas...it wasn't nearly as nuts as I thought it would be. I helped Vic pick out her first pair of glasses. She wears readers but this will be a full time , bifocals, pair of glasses. I was just as bad picking out hers as I am for my own. I am hoping once they get here she'll not hate them.
We wandered around for a while, had an early dinner at Ruby Tuesdays and then went in search for some GoPro accessories. We may have had luck at Sears but could not find a sales person for anything. There was a small group of people waiting around the register area in electronics but after several minutes we gave up and just left.
Our evening was spent with me reading The Andy Cohen Diaries. I can't put it down. It's delicious and the name dropping of my favorite reality stars just keeps me glued. Vic is binge watching some series called The Affair . We are a few episodes in,with me half watching, half reading. I think it will get better but so far I'm not into it enough to put my book down.
We got some really sweet Christmas cards today. I sent out two batches this year. I got a few thank you's from the second batch but no one in the first batch mentioned them..I wonder if they ever got them...I wish I could write a clever Christmas letter but I never do. It's always on my "next year" list..kind of like having cute Christmas photos taken. Some day, maybe.

Day 7, 8 and 9 (30 days of Thankful)
The end of the week was kind of hectic for me. I started helping out at our Venice office and had to adjust to new duties, new hours and it ate into my blog time.
Day 7 I am thankful for nice people in the world. People that pay it forward. :)
Day 8: I am thankful for growing up in the small town that I did (Moberly, Mo) There is just no way to duplicate the things you learn when you grow up with the whole town knowing your business, Everyone knows your parents, grandparents and every screw up you've ever done. I think the best part about it is moving away, seeing the world and then going back from time to time and still feeling "welcome" and like it's held a part of your heart no matter how long you've been away.
Day 9: Vic!!! I am so very thankful for my partner, my lover, my best friend. I can only describe our relationship as being heaven sent. I honestly believe there had to be powers greater than us driving us together. We lived on other sides of the country yet managed to run across each other on Myspace and start chatting and building a friendship. After a year of that we took the plunge to actually meet in person and that just confirmed what we thought we knew;we HAD to make it work and live closer. We did lists of pros and cons of each of us moving. It ended up that my list "won" with more pros. I was in need of another hip replacement surgery and my doctor was here in FL. My family was here, I worked for them and there would be a place for Vic. Those were the biggies. I've never looked back and am reminded almost everyday how very blessed I am to have Vic in my life.

Day 18 of the 30 Day Blog Journal

I have been married three times. My favorite line is that it took me three times until I realized being a lesbian was an option.
I am good friends with my ex's for the most part, the divorces were just as much me as it was them. I honestly have always been attracted to women but did not really think about having a woman as a partner until about five years ago. I had had girlfriends but also boyfriends or husbands being my main relationship. When that changed and I put the woman in my life first it was a real eye opener for me.
Another wedding isn't something I think about much because it's not legal in Florida. My partner and I are just like a married couple in many ways..we share a home, bank accounts, pets, etc. When I had hip surgery she stayed in the hospital room with me every night until I went home. Not all hospitals allow that, luckily mine did.
