Weekly Update June 30, 2012

Ugh! What a long ass week this has been...We woke up today..actually it's after midnight so it was yesterday, but anyway..we woke up so happy that we made it to Friday and then had another LONG day with it's own kind of frustrations.

I had an appointment at the weight loss clinic about the lap bad this week. I found out I have to go to a meeting with the surgeon but the next meeting isn't until like July 19 so I have to wait another 3 weeks..not what I wanted to hear but there was so much going on this week it didn't really matter.

Tropical storm Debby wrecked havoc on our beaches and our tenants. We had so much fun running around making videos of the waves over the weekend, be sure to check out my youtube channel for those exciting videos. Then we started work and had one complaint after the other, that's what happens when the weather is less than perfect, people complain about EVERYTHING.  The sun didn't come out until late Wednesday.

Tomorrow (now today) is St. Pete Pride. We didn't think we were going to get to go because of a listing appointment but it got changed to today (now yesterday). So then we thought we'd get to go but before we even made it home last night Victor called and the jeeps brakes froze up. We called AAA and waited, and waited, and waited for the tow truck. We got back to Venice with the jeep and realized the tow truck driver dude messed up the jeeps brake lines with the hook he used to pulled the  jeep up on the truck bed. It was just one thing after another and now tomorrow (today) we'll be spending our time getting the jeep fixed. At least we have fun plans tomorrow (tonight) with friends!

My dad was able to get his chemo last week. He goes in Monday for the scan to tell us if the chemo worked and how well. Please say a prayer that everything is great and he can go on with life and enjoy some doctor free time.

Here are my instagram photos of this week..

Weekend Thoughts

Woohoo It's Friday! This week has been crazy. Somethings I can't find the words to post about even if I wanted to.

On the happy side Victor (my partners son) passed his state test so we now have two agents in our office! :) Yay!!

My dad is suppose to start his final round of Chemo next Monday but they have to run some more tests because there was an issue with his blood work. I hope it all goes as planned so he can be done with this and relax without having to go to chemo/doctors/etc. all the time. (and selfishly so he can come visit us  in FL!)

I made the first step since my last blog and called my doctor about the lap band surgery. I have an appointment Monday to discuss it more. From what I've read online I should be covered by my insurance. I've also been following a lot of women that have had it done on youtube and gotten some insight on what to expect (good and bad). I am still really wanting to do this.

I did get back on that bike and made it all the way around the block! It's been raining or dark by the time we've gotten home most of the week to get back on it but I feel better about it now that I've done it once.

We have a storm out in the gulf looking to bring lots of rain to our weekend. If it becomes a hurricane it will be named Debby. Hurricane season is always mixed for me..there is some excitement that comes with storms but it's also scary after seeing the devastation a few years ago by Charlie, Irene and other storms near by. I worry about the fur babies the most. We are pretty good to have a "kit" with water, lanterns, crackers, etc. but as I saw from my some of my friends in years past, when you are without power for weeks on end it gets pretty miserable ..maybe we should add a generator to our "kit".

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend whatever you do. Stay dry and hug your daddies!

Happy Fathers Day!

Copy of Happy Fathers Day!

Videos, Movies and MORE

Happy Saturday ya'll! I hope that you've had a great week.
I kind of felt like I was in a funk this past week but then as soon as it came on it left ! I was sitting at Ruby Tuesday with Vic having dinner last night and was thinking "I think I'm in a funk" and then no sooner had I said that I picked up my straw and shot the wrapper at Vic spit ball style and ..wait for it..it landed right on Vic's lip!!! We both laughed so hard that I thought I was going to either pee myself or pass out. And just like that the funk was lifted!

Thursday night we had a delicious dinner at Javiers Restaurant next to our office. I'm sure the food was good but the three bottles of Sangria were damn tasty! Mom and Greg kept talking about a movie that they had just seen that they were sure would be winning all kind of awards and the best movie ever. It was the best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Vic and I had the hardest time staying awake during this movie. It did get better but I don't know if it's my age or taste in movies or what but I didn't care for the movie.

I thought we were going to have a nice relaxing day just hanging out but we just got some work calls and now have to go show property...ugh! I'll write more later. Enjoy your weekend!!

Ok, I'm back. Vic went alone so I could stay home and finish up some stuff around here. It's father's Day weekend and I'm working on a video for my dad :)

I've been so excited about getting a bike. I posted a picture of an adorable pink bike on my facebook last week. And with the  beauty of facebook my mom saw it and contacted me to say I could use her bike! She got a bike last Christmas and isn't using it. When we met her for dinner Thursday night ,Greg brought it up to the office. It's adorable!

To my disappointment when I got home and tried to ride it was super uncomfortable and I could not even get down the block without totally being out of breath. I know part of it is my asthma but the bigger part is being so over weight and out of shape. I came in the house totally pissed off at myself and just depressed.

You all know what a huge fan of housewives of ....fill in the blank, I am,but right now i'm talking about NJ. One of the people on the show is named Lauren and she fights being over weight. There have been pictures of her  showing up that show off a much slimmer body and it finally came out this week that she has had the gastric lap band surgery. Almost instantly when I read that I started doing research on it to see if it was something that I thought could work for me. I've been looked at tons of videos on youtube and I even called my doctor Friday for a recommendation! I will be calling Monday so I can talk about it with the doctor. While i have wonderful insurance I am going to see if it's covered and look into having this done. I know that exercise and dieting could also work but I am so beyond out of shape since I've had my hips replaced that I just can't get going on it for some reason. I will keep you posted on my journey...wish me luck!! :)

Reality TV Summer Update 2012

A quick update on what reality shows are catching my attention and some random thoughts.

Sister Wives: I'm so ready for them all to build a big house and be under the same roof again already. I feel for the kids and think the parents have been very selfish in this move. I'm ready for Cody to get a hair cut..I'd like the show better without him. Go Figure lol

Kendra On Top: Ive only caught a few episodes (maybe there have only been a couple?) I think she used to be cute and dumb. Now I just think she's a bitch and arrogance doesn't look good on her. Baby Hank is adorable thou! I could just eat him up!! The last episode I saw was when Hef came to visit in the helicopter. He looks soooooo old. I wonder about his two girlfriends that he brought..I'd bet they were his nurses.

Real Housewives of NY: I'm enjoying the new ladies on the show. Each has their own little quirkiness. I miss the old days with Bethenny and Jill but I'll still watch. I don't miss the one that had the gay husband..what was her  name? They had the annoying little boys...Alex, That's it..Thanks Vic! :)

Real Housewives of the NJ , I love when Rosie is on! I was on team Melissa all the way even though I really feel sorry for Theresa because of her bone head husband but then I read Theresa's blog yesterday and I can see how alot of it may be true and now I even feel more bad for her..but I'm not totally anti Melissa, I love her and Joe they crack me up. I think Theresa is going to have her hands full with that bratty daughter Gia..Ms Crazy Eyes.

Real Housewives of OC, I loved the girls trip to Costa Rica. Poor fake Alexiis got attacked by the girls. I doubt any of it will make a difference thou. Hey at least she's beautiful..that will get her pretty far in CA

Mrs. Eastwood and Co. Vic likes this show so we watch it but it hasnt really caught my attention yet. I'll play on the computer and listen to it but rarely see a full episode. Not enough drama I guess lol

Kardashions: yep..I watch. I love the show and everything Kardashion except Kims latest beau...she could do so much better (or maybe I'd just like to believe that) I think with Kayne she will be with yet another guy that she has to constantly make apologies for his behavior.

So what are you watching? Agree with my take on these shows or not?

Summer TV, Shopping, Movies

It's that time again when all the shows have stopped for summer. Sadly no more Revenge, Grays Anatomy, Private practice, Etc.... thankfully we have Bravo and all the housewives to watch and SOON Big Brother is starting again. Until then Vic has me watching Duck Dynasty and Swamp People. Ugh

I hope everyone is having a good summer. I have really been in a blogging funk and not knowing what to blog about. I have been back obsessed with youtube and following some really interesting people. I keep thinking that I will get brave and start making videos but I'm really more of a voyeur and not so much into being in front of the camera. We will see..

I've been keeping up with my dad quite a bit as he goes thru his chemo. Last week was the 5th session. He just had to have blood transfusions for the first time and it made him feel much better , for a day anyway. My older sister and her husband and middle daughter are going to to visit him this week on their way back from Missouri. I know he's really looking forward to that. I hope he's feeling  "up" when they are there and can get some good visiting time in.  I went up for a few weeks in March or April after his first round of chemo. Since then we've been skyping every week and staying in touch on facebook. Another reason I LOVE all this social networking and technology.

Yesterday Vic and I went baby shopping for a friends baby shower next weekend. OMG there are soooo many cute baby things out there. I wish someone around here would have a baby (hint hint Mallory)
I think today we are going to go see Prometheus. Not my usual kind of movie but it looked good in the trailers and it's totally Vic and Victors type. I'll let ya know what I thought later.

Anyway, it's almost 10am and we've already had our first maintenance call from work (AC not working) so it's time to get busy and start our day. Enjoy!!
