Reality TV Summer Update 2012

A quick update on what reality shows are catching my attention and some random thoughts.

Sister Wives: I'm so ready for them all to build a big house and be under the same roof again already. I feel for the kids and think the parents have been very selfish in this move. I'm ready for Cody to get a hair cut..I'd like the show better without him. Go Figure lol

Kendra On Top: Ive only caught a few episodes (maybe there have only been a couple?) I think she used to be cute and dumb. Now I just think she's a bitch and arrogance doesn't look good on her. Baby Hank is adorable thou! I could just eat him up!! The last episode I saw was when Hef came to visit in the helicopter. He looks soooooo old. I wonder about his two girlfriends that he brought..I'd bet they were his nurses.

Real Housewives of NY: I'm enjoying the new ladies on the show. Each has their own little quirkiness. I miss the old days with Bethenny and Jill but I'll still watch. I don't miss the one that had the gay husband..what was her  name? They had the annoying little boys...Alex, That's it..Thanks Vic! :)

Real Housewives of the NJ , I love when Rosie is on! I was on team Melissa all the way even though I really feel sorry for Theresa because of her bone head husband but then I read Theresa's blog yesterday and I can see how alot of it may be true and now I even feel more bad for her..but I'm not totally anti Melissa, I love her and Joe they crack me up. I think Theresa is going to have her hands full with that bratty daughter Gia..Ms Crazy Eyes.

Real Housewives of OC, I loved the girls trip to Costa Rica. Poor fake Alexiis got attacked by the girls. I doubt any of it will make a difference thou. Hey at least she's beautiful..that will get her pretty far in CA

Mrs. Eastwood and Co. Vic likes this show so we watch it but it hasnt really caught my attention yet. I'll play on the computer and listen to it but rarely see a full episode. Not enough drama I guess lol

Kardashions: yep..I watch. I love the show and everything Kardashion except Kims latest beau...she could do so much better (or maybe I'd just like to believe that) I think with Kayne she will be with yet another guy that she has to constantly make apologies for his behavior.

So what are you watching? Agree with my take on these shows or not?

June 6th, Photo of the day Books and a dose of reality recap

June 6th , My Photo Of the Day is Books
As you can tell our library has a WIDE variety of authors and subjects

I'm also doing my Reality Recap because last nights shows were almost toooooo much!

Did you see the final episode of sister wives?
They get all moved to Las Vegas and find four houses , one for each wife. Ok..it must be a TV show and not truly reality because none of them are working  yet they can afford to rent four houses?? I'm in the property management business and I don't know about  Vegas but here in Florida we require them to have jobs, security deposits, etc...
From the beginning of the show I liked the Browns. I loved that they wanted to keep the family together and the kids all seemed very well adjusted but these last few shows have really made them appear to be very selfish. The investigation will still be going on if the family is in Utah or Vegas so why up root all of the children (I think there are 16 kids) from school, church and the support of a community that has other poly familys ? And then what really was the last straw was Cody and the newest wife saying they were trying to have another baby! Ugh!!! Is it just me or would you want to find jobs first so you could feed the 16 kids you already have?

Ok enough of them. On to the finale of Real Housewives of the OC
The real entertainment for me was the after show with Andy (BravoAndy-Watch What Happens Now) when Alexis called in because Peggy was his guest. Alexis sounded like a crazy girl in high school with her "juicy gossip" trying to make Peggy look back when it only made Alexis look like an idiot (which honestly doesn't take too much, she is not the sharpest tool in the shed). I can't wait for the reunion show next Sunday, these women supply me with all the drama that I don't have in my real life. Thanks girls!

Reality Recap

Sister Wives

The last one I watched (which I think was the season finale but could be wrong) They packed up and moved to Las Vegas to avoid the law.So does this make them fugitives? Do any charges and investigations get dropped just becasue they moved? I'm confused and feel like I've missed some important shows explaining what is happening.
I couldnt help but laugh when Cody kept asking for a sign from God on if they were doing the right thing..I'd think three flat tires would have been a HUGE sign but that is just me.ha!

Something about the last few shows I watched made me feel like it was a little more staged and not genuine. Anyone else picking up that vibe?

Ok next show..The Real Housewives of NJ (BravoTV)
What kind of families act this way?! When there were near fist fights going on at the christening no one seemed too concerened about the children being right there! When questioned about it later , Theresa got very upset saying her children were not around , when the footage of the night puts Gia right there holding onto her mom trying to get her to walk away.
This show has become a train wreck to me that I just can't turn away from.
Much like RHONY...ramonacoaster!

My third and final recap this week is for a new show to me..Spouse Vs House..If you've never seen it the idea is that a husband and wife are planning a remodel. They are given a certain dollar amount and plan on several rooms to re do. The last one I saw they were given $25,000 to re model the kitchen, living room and either garage or master bedoom. The twist is that the wife is taken away for three weeks and the husband has to do it himself with no imput from the wife. You can already see all that could go wrong, right?
It was no surprise to me that the husband in the show I watched this week choose to redo his garage instead of making a beautiful master bedroom for his wife. And when they went back several weeks later the garage looked just like it did before he spent thousands of dollars drywalling and painting it. His saving grace was that the kitchen was everything she wanted it to be and looked awesome. I would be a little worried if I was the wife on some of these episodes!

January 2011

I'm getting used to the fact that we are in a new year now. I've been getting the 1099s gathered for our property owners, and trying to set up my bookkeeping in a more organized fashion this year.

We have tickets to go see The Color Purple on Friday at the Van Wezel . I am super excited about that. I love going to live performances. Hopefully we will fit more of those in this year.

I'm fighting a cold/cough that has hung on way too long. Will most likey have to make another trip back to the Dr. for a second round of meds.

We have not made it back to the homeless camp since the day after Christmas but we have a few things collected and will try and make it next weekend. We want to get a few more propane tanks for pops heater before we go again.

My sister called tonight and is doing better. I had just made the decision today that I would not call or text or stop by her house again until I heard from her and then out of the blue tonight she called to tell me she was feeling better and keeping food down. I am very happy that she is feeling better and hope she will stay on the track to recovery.

I have to show property in the morning. I hope the  people want the house and can move in by Feb. 1st. Our annual rentals seem to fill up fast. (knock on wood!) Wish our seasonal rentals stayed as full.

I've seen so many cute blog ideas lately for a yearly type blog project. One woman takes a picture of her feet whereever she is standing and did a year end blog with pictures thru the year of the places she stood. It was a clever idea but I never think to do that until after i've left a place. Ive been taking tons of pictures on my new blackberry but the quality of the pictures are not very good so I hate to post them. I've sent several to my facebook only to log on later and realize they are so dark you can't even see what is in them.

I'm not very good at keeping up with things I start *glaring at my treadmill that has not been used but once since I got it in October*. I'd like to think this year will be different but I kind of doubt it.  We shall see.

I am just as hooked as ever to my reality shows...and the OWN network. I can't wait til Sunday when Mya Angelou is on Master Class. I'll try and do another reality review one of these days, I am always surprised at how many of ya'll watch those shows. Speaking of those shows, does anyone know if Sister Wives is coming back?

Anyway..I hope that your new year is starting off on a positive note. Smiles, Hugs and laughter sent your way!

Sister Wives on TLC

I finally got around to watching the new show "Sister Wives" last night. I've only seen the first episode but enjoyed it enough that I will watch more.

It is a reality show about a family that practices polygamy. The man in this show has three wives and 12 (soon to be 13) children. He is courting a fourth wife. It was not your typical poly family that we have seen on the news where the women and girls all wear dresses and have long braided hair. The Brown family has wives that work, children that go to school and a more "modern" feel to it.

Even though I could not see myself living this lifestyle I totally could see it working for others. The sister wives made some very good points in the first episode, such as they have the security of knowing if anything happened to them the other sister wives would take care of their children. The third wife said she married more for the other sister wives than the actual husband. I could get that. What a great support system.

The children were all born AFTER the three marriages took place. So all the kids have grown up together as sisters and brothers. They all share a huge house but it is divided into three very separate spaces with three kitchens, three living rooms and lots of bedrooms.

I read this morning that the family is being investigated by police because polygamy is illegal. I wondered about that as I watched the show last night. It was a pretty big risk to put it on TV. The family said they knew the risks and thought it was worth it. I can't say I would agree. I'm sure the local authorities know it goes on but look the other way , it's kind of hard to do that when you're rubbing it in their face on a tv program.

Did you watch it? What did you think? Could you live that way?
