Weekly Hair Update (23 weeks without coloring my hair)

Good Morning~! My new normal is getting up at 4:45 a.m. for some reason (I think the reason is named Dexter-my miniature dachshund-who has started getting me up at that hour)
I did a quick video update today as well which I will post at the bottom of this blog.
No major changes, still only salt and pepper looking at the top and when i pull the sides back.

The link to the video update is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMidRNzdAC0

Happy Saturday!

Hello!
I hope that September is treating you all well. I can't even believe it's already the 12th ...we've been counting down to our Paris trip since March and it's finally less than a month away..so so so very excited !!

I've been doing so many new things lately that I kind of feel like I'm burning the candle at both ends. For example...
I'm doing reviews for sellers on Amazon -the boxes coming every day are very exciting but keeping up with the deadlines and who I owe what to is border line crazy..thank goodness for spreadsheets!
I'm also getting ready to take over newsletters and mailing campaigns at work. I love that sort of stuff but it's a big project to get up and running.
We've also committed to a membership class at our church. We've got another class next weekend. Not sure that we are going to become members at this point but we are enjoying going to the church and some of the church functions. Last night we had a drum circle, potluck dinner thing at the beach with a lot of the members of the church and people we've met through the membership class.
I've slowed down on  Ebay right now because I don't want things to be running while I'm in Paris. I am thinking I really need to have a garage sale one of these weekends and just do a major purge with all of the stuff I've accumulated over the past few years.
And if all of that isn't enough I've really gotten into my new youtube channel. I have been watching youtubers for years and always wanted to set up a channel and do daily vlogs or some sort of program..I jumped right in last week. Starting with four subscribers and now I have 83 I think! I've really been working it and it's so gratifying seeing the progress everyday and reading all of the sweet comments. Another proof to me that putting things out into the universe makes things happen. ! :)

I hate to blog and run but this was just a quick update and now Vic is waiting for me to head out and do some grocery shopping. Please leave a comment and let me know you were here ..Have a great Saturday my friends!

Hello Hello Hello

Hi friends!
I'm home with a cold today so I thought I'd do a little catch up blog.
It's been a pretty good week with only a few hiccups.
The biggest highlight is that my niece will be having her baby Monday if not before! She went to the doctor yesterday and that was the decision they made with the doctor. She is really due Sept. 21 but is having a few issues with blood pressure and the baby is already 7 lbs 4 oz. . I am so ready to meet my great niece Annabelle...I'd better get over this cold or I will have to wait.

Another pretty big highlight is that we got Garth Brooks tickets for October. Vic and I both have birthdays in October so every year we do something special together (cruise, weekend away, etc.) and today tickets went on sale so we both got online and tried for 45 min. to get good seats. I am pretty pleased with what we got. They are all the same price no matter where you sit and there were only a few dates available in jacksonsville (4+ hours away from us) but as we were trying to buy tickets they opened up a few more dates to choose from so we  got later than we planned for dates. The only thing bad about it is that it falls on Sarasota Pride weekend...we missed it last year because of our cruise to Mexico and it looks like we'll miss it again this year.

I've had one of the best weeks so far on Ebay and Amazon. It's been a wide arrangement of products. I've been posting vintage postcards this past week. Most are from 1908-1913 and they are mostly from a family from the town i grew up in (Moberly, Missouri) so I posted about them on a local facebook page and one of my classmates got in touch with me that she is either related to or friends with the family that is tied back to these postcards. Pretty cool. I love history and family trees.
I've also been posting a bunch of old cookbooks. My sister is de-cluttering her house so she brings me things every week to post while I'm at work (We work together, pretty cool having your sister as your boss I guess lol)

Vic ended up not having to serve for Jury Duty. I got a card in the mail to serve one time but I was in TN helping dad thru Chemo and everything so I sent a post back that I couldn't make it. I guess that was ok, I never heard anything else. I do think it would be very interesting.

We got a call from our lawn guy last week telling us our fence gate fell off. Yes, the BRAND NEW fence. Here we are a week later and no one has come to fix it yet. Vic has sent several pictures and spoken to them on the phone several times and now they promise to come out next week...we shall see. What a pain. We have it hooked up with wire hangers and blocks of wood so our dogs don't escape right now.

My latest obsession, revisited, is monthly subscription boxes and youtube videos doing reviews on said boxes. Some of my favorites are: Amy Lynn Thompson, Mrs. Lola Lynn , and Jenn at the Busy Bee Buzz  . I am currrently getting Ipsy , I have canceled Birchbox and I just ordered Beauty Box 5. I hope to do a review/comparison once they come this month. There are so many more that I want to get but I have to control the urges to order them all.

That is about all that is fit to print. I'm playing with the idea of doing video updates again but I tried thru blogger and it didn't take...I guess I need to make friends with my youtube again...or not.
Have a great weekend!!

Summer TV, Shopping, Movies

It's that time again when all the shows have stopped for summer. Sadly no more Revenge, Grays Anatomy, Private practice, Etc.... thankfully we have Bravo and all the housewives to watch and SOON Big Brother is starting again. Until then Vic has me watching Duck Dynasty and Swamp People. Ugh

I hope everyone is having a good summer. I have really been in a blogging funk and not knowing what to blog about. I have been back obsessed with youtube and following some really interesting people. I keep thinking that I will get brave and start making videos but I'm really more of a voyeur and not so much into being in front of the camera. We will see..

I've been keeping up with my dad quite a bit as he goes thru his chemo. Last week was the 5th session. He just had to have blood transfusions for the first time and it made him feel much better , for a day anyway. My older sister and her husband and middle daughter are going to to visit him this week on their way back from Missouri. I know he's really looking forward to that. I hope he's feeling  "up" when they are there and can get some good visiting time in.  I went up for a few weeks in March or April after his first round of chemo. Since then we've been skyping every week and staying in touch on facebook. Another reason I LOVE all this social networking and technology.

Yesterday Vic and I went baby shopping for a friends baby shower next weekend. OMG there are soooo many cute baby things out there. I wish someone around here would have a baby (hint hint Mallory)
I think today we are going to go see Prometheus. Not my usual kind of movie but it looked good in the trailers and it's totally Vic and Victors type. I'll let ya know what I thought later.

Anyway, it's almost 10am and we've already had our first maintenance call from work (AC not working) so it's time to get busy and start our day. Enjoy!!

Obsessions,Addictions,Passions

To know me, is to know that I go through many "obsessions", I guess that is what I will call it until I think of a better word.
I will find something that I really enjoy and just do it to death and then move on. Sometimes I will re-visit it and sometimes I won't. Some examples..scrap booking, making YouTube videos, playing farmville, petville, social city and what ever other new games came about on facebook. Pogo (the game site, not the stick) blogging, facebook, myspace, twitter, etc.

I am very envious of people that can cook but I really don't have the passion or desire to learn to be good at it. I tried a few dishes when Vic and I were on the Atkins diet a few months ago. Going to the grocery store was my first challenge! I had not even heard of most of the ingredients and then came the terminology of things in the kitchen...dutch oven, meat fork , etc. I did a blog about that experience on facebook  Check that out  here when you are in need of a good laugh.

Now that I am obsessing with blogs, I keep seeing the most amazing crafts and fun food projects. I don't know that I will ever make them..I want to. I am jealous that other people seem so focused and able to do these things. I am a perfectionist that isn't perfect is a good way of saying it I think. In my mind I have a perfect vision of what something should be and then when it falls short of perfection I quit.

My sisters boyfriend said something the other day that really stuck with me and made a lot of sense. We were talking about kids now days (wow that sentence alone makes me sound OLD!) Anyway...the jest of the conversation was that kids want to be the best at something but don't want to put the work into learning HOW to be good at it. I guess that is kind of how I am. If something comes easily for me and I'm good at it, GREAT! If it's work and I'm falling short of being good at it I probably won't stick with it.  Not one of my better qualities.

I know this is something I need to work on. Or maybe I will just keep adding obsessions. I am a very curious person and am always thinking. I would love to learn more about photography but would get bored with the technical side of how and why things work with a camera. Even as I sit and write this blog my mind is off on a million other things. I should make a list of what I want to do. Lists are not my friends but that is a whole other blog.

OK off to start my day...Enjoy your Tuesday!
