Week 21.
I have not noticed a huge change in the last few weeks. I am liking this shorter hair cut. It's so easy !
I made another appointment for November I think but don't plan on going any shorter..just keeping everything shaped up.

18 Week Dye Free Hair update
Welcome to my journey as I leave behind hair dye and go grey naturally. It's been 18 weeks since my last hair coloring process.(that sounds an awful lot like an AA intro) My last hair cut was mid to late May 2015 when I had my bangs trimmed. So four months on getting it cut-when I used to go every 5-7 weeks for color/cut.
I did break down and make an appointment to get my hair trimmed for this Friday. I had planned on just getting a few inches cut off. My thinking was to keep it healthy and trim off any dead ends , and to get rid of some of the color that is left. When I opened my facebook today there was one of those prompts for seeing what I was doing Aug. 26 in years past. It just so happens that last Aug. 26 I had my hair done. I really liked the picture/cut of my hair so I think I'll use that as a guide when i go in Friday to how much I want cut off. I'm pretty surprised at how long my hair has grown in a year. One would think it would be harder to manage longer but for me it's much easier. I toss it in a pony or pull it back in clips and no more bad hair days..:)
Last August 26..

Weekly Hair Update
I missed my weekly update yesterday due to a wet mess at my house. But here we go ....week four of my hair updates! :)
It has now been 12 weeks since I have had my hair colored. I wasn't thinking at the time that it would be my last but as the universe often works things just lined up for me that way. When it was time for my next appointment my hair dresser had something going on with her family and had to cancel. Then by the time my next appointment came along I had just started thinking about going natural so I canceled the appointment to give me more time to think about it.
Recently, I started looking for hairstyles that I liked and made a new Pinterest board to save them on. One of my friends commented on this board on my facebook page and now my dear friend Heide that has done my hair for 20+ years knows about my grey project. To say that she is not on board is an understatement. I love her dearly but doubt I'll change her thinking on this one. It will be ok. :)
I went out to dinner with my sister for her birthday last week and my hair adventure came up. My mom even said that she is thinking about doing the same thing! I love the support. Lord knows I've gone though many hair styles/colors during my life and not always the best look or choices. The great thing about hair..it grows back. I remember wanting to shave it when Sinead O'Connor was popular but Heide explained to me that not everyone has a pretty head and few would look as beautiful as Sinead did. Ok I'm thankful that I didn't shave it off but after seeing some of my friends battle cancer and lose their hair I have yet to see an ugly bald head.
I look forward to taking these pictures every week to see how much my hair has changed.

Being Authentic
Another week into my journey of going natural and being my authentic self. It's now been 11 weeks since I've had my hair colored. I've noticed in taking these pictures that I don't know how to part my hair..lol
Vic and I were on our way to the grocery store I believe , I had my hair pulled back and she mentioned how much silver was showing at my temple area. It started me thinking and when I got home I googled going grey, no more hair color, and things like that. I was surprised at how many blogs and videos I found on the subject.
I decided that I would like to do this. I now do weekly blogs (every Wednesday) with an update on my hair so I can see the transformation.
My daily affirmation card today fit perfectly with my weekly blog.

Before/After and weekly update 2/19/2014
I had my hair done today. I covered up the grey and did a few streaks of color. As always Heide did a fantastic job. I love my hair.
I also had a facial and waxed my eye brows...that is the reason they are a bit red and puffy.
Sooooooooooo anyway. We've had a busy week. We know five people expecting babies all around the same time. Some are still a secret so I can't mention any names. So very exciting! I am looking forward to shopping for babies and having babies join our holidays.
Last weekend was Valentines Day. Vic had pink roses (my favorite) sent to me at work and then we met after work for a romantic dinner at the Pavilion Grill..it was yummy!
House of Cards is back up for season 2 so most of the weekend was watching that.
We have decided we are going to TN for Thanksgiving again this year. Got the cabin booked today. It will be hard since the last time we were there was with my dad but I'm also thinking it will bring me peace being in the mountains again. That cabin was so peaceful the first time and it will be nice to get away and have this new tradition with Victor and Vic.
Tonight I'm heading back out for a night of Bingo with my friend Lisa. I am actually looking forward to it. If I don't win anything I'd better win the powerball..it's TIME!
I'll check back in later..Chow!
