There are just some days that you will remember for all of your life. what you were doing, where you were, how you felt. Today I stayed glued to the TV all day watching the earthquake/tsunami and aftermath. My heart breaks for all those people in Japan that are disconnected from their friends and family tonight, not knowing where they are or if they are alive.
I can count the other times I was glued to the tv on one hand
- Charles and Dianas wedding
- Dianas funeral
- 9-11
- The Iran Hostage Crisis
- When Mark McGwire beat the home run record.
Of course some of those are more important that others..When have you been glued to your TV all day?

I was glued to the TV when the Challe ger blew up right before my very eyes. I was waiting for a call back about a job interview and didn't have much else going on so I watched the take off and, then, explosion. It was a scary, sad event. I was also glued to Princess Diana's funeral. I felt like she was my friend. From the Lady Blogger's Society! :-)
I think the first time I was glued to the tv was when the Challenger exploded, but since then, probably the most that I sat glued to the tv was when Princess Dianna died, Oklahoma City bombing but the longest by far was 9/11. I remember I was 6 months pregnant with Nicholas and wondered what kind of world I was bringing this innocent little baby into.
By the way,"Kelly" is me, Kelly Taylor Myers. Thought my full name would show and I forgot to preview it first! :) Silly Me!!
what a thought-provoking blog post! I guess the 9-11 tragedy comes to mind most readily, but I too watched Diana's funeral and mourned her loss deeply. Visiting from the Lady bloggers tea party.
I was glued to the TV the day Charles and Diana married and the day of Diana's funeral. Wow. I was glued to the winter Olympics following 9/11 because of the fact we didn't allow terrorists to ruin the event & that my husband was working the Olympics that year. Great post! I'm visiting from the Lady Blogger's Tea party. Have a great weekend
1, 2, and 3 definitely. (your post makes me miss her. Like she was my friend. Crazy how we grow attached to people) 4 somewhat. 5 not at all. However, what about OJ Simpson verdict. I think everyone in my downtown office building was glued to a tv for that timeperiod. Northridge Earthquake was a personal one for me as I was in it. Oh and the Rodney King riots as I was in it.

The last time I was glued to the TV all day long was 911, I believe. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I still can't believe it.
